Product descriptions
We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details and prices of products appearing on this website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system. Although we aim to keep the website as up to date as possible, information appearing on this website at a particular time may not always reflect the exact situation at the moment you place your order. Please note that in the case of lighting, light bulbs are not included unless otherwise stated.

We reserve the right to offer special website prices exclusively to our online customers.

Delivery

Couriered delivery requires a signature, couriers are not authorised to leave parcels unattended for security reasons.
Firstly, please make sure that you check your items carefully before you use them. Secondly, we recommend that you keep your receipt, packaging and order number, which can be found on your order confirmation email or on the order invoice that comes with your delivery, because you might need it as proof of purchase in the event of any after-sales enquiry.
Delivery
To place an order you will be asked to provide a valid email address so that we can send a confirmation email as soon as your order has been dispatched. This helps you to know when your delivery will be made. The table below outlines our different delivery charges based upon what you order and where you are asking us to deliver to.

Delivery to gift addresses
We do offer a gift address service but certain items sold on our website that are valuble may have to be delivered to the cardholders address for security and insurance reasons.
If you have chosen a gift address for an expensive item and it needs to be delivered to a cardholders address for security reasons, you will be contacted by one of our sales advisors.
Direct delivery by Suppliers
Certain items sold on our website are delivered direct from our Suppliers. This will be indicated in the relevant product information so please refer to individual products. Lead times for these items do vary from 7 working days up to 28 days. Please be aware that certain direct deliveries can only be delivery to Mainland UK addresses.
Our carriers
Deliveries are made by Business Post. In the event that you are not home at the time of the delivery, a card will be left. You can then either wait for the second delivery attempt (usually the next working day) or phone the Business Post number to make an arrangement to collect from their local depot at a convenient time.
If we are still unable to make a successful delivery after two attempts, your order will be held at Business Post depot for 5 working days, after this your order will be returned to our warehouse. You can then request the order to be re-delivered but this will incur an extra delivery cost.
Exceptional circumstances
In certain circumstances, such as traffic accidents, extreme weather conditions or unforeseen technical problems, we may be unable to fulfill your delivery in accordance with these terms. For such exceptions, we may require additional time and effort to fulfill the delivery. If this occurs, we will make our best efforts to deliver your order as soon as we possibly can, or you may opt to cancel and receive a full refund.
General terms of delivery
We deliver to all mainland UK addresses with a valid postcode
We also deliver to the Scottish Islands, Isles of Scilly, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland, and Republic of Ireland but these incur premium charges (please see above)
Delivery times apply only to products in stock
Our couriers work throughout the day, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) so your order may arrive any time between 9.00am and 5.30pm
We do not deliver on weekends or Bank Holidays
All deliveries must be signed for by either yourself or a trusted friend/neighbour
Products may be dispatched from different locations and may therefore arrive separately - you will not incur additional delivery charges under these circumstances
For security reasons we cannot deliver to a BFPO address
We reserve the right not to deliver orders if we believe the address is not secure, for example, to communal postal address or a PO BOX - if this affects an order you place, we will notify you as soon as possible
Returns, Cancellations and Refunds: In Action to distant selling act
If at any time or reason, you’re not completely happy with your purchase(s), we’ll give you 7 day money back guarantee following the day of receiving the goods. This allows you ample time to inspect the goods and check their suitability. Written or telephone communication will be required for 7 day cancellation period. Goods must be returned to the supplier at your own cost. As soon as we receive the returned items we will refund full payment including postage from original order. Where an order consists of 2 or more items and you return part of the order courier costs will not be refunded. As soon as we receive the returned item(s) in saleable condition, we will refund the card you made the original purchase with. Please note that for security reasons we can't refund a different credit/debit card to the one you placed the order on and we can only send out replacement products to the delivery address specified in the original order.
If you change your mind about an order and want to cancel it, you can do so up to the point before despatch. If goods have already been despatched by us, we ask that you return the goods, usused and complete with the original packaging.
If we find that the item has been returned and reasonable care has not been taken, we reserve the right to refuse a refund on the item, or deduct an amount of the original selling price from the refund amount. Returns should be made promptly and in original packaging where possible.
Refunds will be given within 30 days on notification of cancellation
Please note that you are responsible for all return carrier costs in the event of a cancellation. If goods need to be returned, please contact us on 01904 629429 or email websales@barnitts.co.uk but you are free to make your own arrangements at your own expense. Please obtain proof of postage.
Please notify us as soon as possible of receipt any shortages or if any goods have been damaged in transit. Photographic evidence may be required.
Weee - Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Recycling
In the UK WEEE regulations a distributor is defined as 'any person who provides electrical and electronic equipment on a commercial basis to the party who is going to use it'.
Distributors who supply new EEE have an obligation to ensure that WEEE from private households can be returned to the system free of charge.
